Crushed Optimists

We are twin brothers who grew up in Central Washington. This blog is devoted to the life of Seattle sports fans, as well as various other topics that we will espouse for your enjoyment. We could be called another OFFICIAL SEATTLE SEAHAWKS site, but we'll take our uneducated crack at the Mariners, Sonics, and Huskies as well. A Seattle Sports Blog? Must be the land... of crushed optimism!

Fantasy Baseball: Day One Recap

As always, it is pretty pointless to do any sort of fantasy recap after only Monday's games, but that won't stop me from gloating, since the US Women's Curling Team (captained by yours truly) is out to a stunning 8-1 early lead over Brannigan's Love (showing that engineering majors, while knowledgable about what holes to stick their pens in, know little to nothing about life and love).

US Women's Curling Team:
Stars:
Geoff Jenkins: 2/4, 1 R, 2 RBI, 0 K, 5 total bases
Carlos Delgado: 2/3, 1 R, 2 RBI, 1 K, 5 TB
Pedro Martinez: 1 W, 8 K, 4.05 ERA, 1.20 WHIP

Losers:
Magglio Ordonez: 0/4, 1 K
Grady Sizemore: 1/5, 1 R, 1 TB
Mike Timlin: 1 cheap win because Guardado couldn't get out Mark Loretta

Brannigan's Love:
Stars:
Joe Crede: 1/3, 1 R, 2 RBI, 4 TB
Manny Ramirez: 2/4, 1 K, 2 TB
Ronnie Belliard: 2/4, 1 RBI, 2 TB

Losers:
David Wright: 0/4
Gavin's Pride

Pitchers starting today? None for the Curlers, but Brannigan has King Felix, Doug Davis, and Justin Verlander, so those pitching statistics should be plenty different by tomorrow's recap.
